CLOCK

September 6

I have worn the same style watch for 40 years. I just replace the band (like this one, that broke), the battery, or the watch itself (they don't do well being submerged). And this time, I found a silver one that cost less than a new band!

BRIGHT

September 6

As we approach the end of summer, the sun has moved more directly east and west, the way Salt Lake City streets are laid out. So driving in the early morning or late afternoon can be blindingly bright. I'm usually muttering under my breath about not being able to see, but today I stopped and took a picture! Ironic that too much light can make something harder to see...

MY MAILBOX

September 4
The  mailbox for my apartment building is ever-ready for Halloween. Everytime I get my mail I think 'I should bring a broom down here and clean this up!'  But the cobwebs added interest to this photo, so I'm glad I hadn't followed through.

FAR AWAY

September 3

Most of my grandkids live fairly close to me , but these three - Nykenna, Sarah, and Corbin - live far away in Colorado. I went to visit them a few months ago for Nykenna's baptism.

FATHER

September 2

Casi is obviously pregnant, but no more excited about having a baby than Josh. He has sympathy pains all the time, lovingly painted furniture, walls, and floor - even a rug! - for Reef's room, and will probably even go through labor. I would say that makes him a father!

YOU, NOW

September 1

Josh and Casi and I went to the Openhouse of the Brigham City Temple. You can't tell in this photo, but his hair (at age 36) is well on its way to being as white as mine. He got the lucky silver gene!

Josh is a painter, Casi a decorator; they were both rightly impressed with the beautiful finish work throughout the temple.
