SOFT

June 29   SOFT is my memory foam mattress, babies' skin, anything microfiber, day-old chicks,  puffy clouds (well they look soft), babies' hair, a humble heart, whipped cream, rose petals, butter on a warm day, and did I mention babies?

ON THE SHELF

I'm not much of a collector of doodahs,
but I have this one spot where I keep
a few little things that have special meaning
to me, or I just like how they make me feel.

I like the colorful lids on the Mrs. Dash bottles, besides the yummy contents,
so I keep them out and handy on the back of my stove.

Almost everything on these shelves came from my daughter Ali. I especially love her creations
made from autumn leaves.
The philodendron just keeps on
growing (for about 10 years now). Thankfully it's very forgiving of 'haircuts' and infrequent watering!

And I'll always love
President Hinckley.

(Bird) BATHROOM

June 27    Rather than a photo of my own bathroom (barely big enough to turn around in)
I wanted to get one of the lobby restroom at the Grand America Hotel downtown.
Opulent is a good word for it!

But I went instead for a bird bath(room), which I found at Backyard Birds.

Only whistle-wetting in this shallow sink.

Jetted Tub
Just add WATER! Please!!

SOMETHING CUTE

June 25   It's certainly not my photography that's cute! When my daughter stopped by for lunch today, the first thing I noticed was her cute shoes. But even better was her announcement of a new, 'dream' job with a proper raise in salary!

Clouds add interest and contrast, and some reprieve from the sun on these hot days.

ON MY MIND

June 24    A couple of my children have been on my mind lately...in a good way! I so admire the way they face the challenges of life and learn its lessons. It's not without pain, but you can so see the strength gained, and the growth achieved. I'm very proud of all of them.

Sydney is my oldest daughter;
the picture shows her seven, plus son-in-law.

Aaron is my oldest son; his sense of humor is what I love about him.

MOVEMENT

June 23    This amazing fishtank was full of movement, not only by the beautiful fish, but the plants, coral, and other critters. After a delicious meal at La Cai Noodle house, we spent 15 minutes in their tiny lobby fascinated by the color and graceful dance of a salt water world. Hats off to its creator and caretaker!

FROM A HIGH ANGLE

These door handles were my favorite thing about Cheesecake Factory,
where the prices were a bit high angled.

WHERE I SLEPT

June 21

One of those wakeful nights last night, so I took a nap today where the fan could keep me cool. I inherited this couch from my mom, via my brother who used it first.                                The year my grandson Shaydon was two, he lived with me and this was his bed.  I have fond memories of lying on my side on the very edge as we talked about the events of the day, and listened to Mozart tunes till he fell asleep. Sometimes I fell asleep too. ZZZZZzzzz

Sky Corner June 21

At home in my sky corner the clouds were interesting enough, but fairly random, like clouds are. That afternoon, though, they were in more of a uniform pattern across a large portion of the sky. They changed quickly, but stayed patterned.

FAVORITE PHOTO I'VE EVER TAKEN (since starting the photo challenge)

June 20   I've never been much of a photographer, having blurred or chopped off many a head, left film sitting for months before I developed it, and missed multiple memories through lack of planning. I'm learning that the digital camera is my friend; I can take multiple shots till I get it right, see how they turn out right away, and delete the duds, so as not to embarrass myself. Not that these are great photography, but because of the feelings I remember at the time, these three stick out in my mind as favorites:

Morning Shadows                                                  Ty & his Hat

                                                                Green Fireworks

IMPERFECT

June 19  Im-per-fect, as in nobody's perfect? Flawed in some way, big or small? Or as in not finished yet, incomplete. I wish I had a photo of the boy with cerebral palsy I saw last night. Certainly a flawed, imperfect body. But a near-perfect soul I would think. I sometimes dwell on my overbite, or saggy skin or skinny legs or ...., but is that as important as how I am inside? Who am I? Who am I becoming?  Do major or minor flaws in our body or mind change our value, especially to God, who loves us perfectly?

Blemishes, frayed edges, rumpled, limp,
 IMPERFECT!
But still of great value.

SOMETHING YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT ME

June 18
It depends on who you are as to what you don't know about me...
Did you know I've wasted passed many an hour doing Sudoku puzzles?
I can pretty confidently do one with 26 numbers given. The one in today's "NOW Salt Lake" only has 24 given. At the risk of being up way too late, I'm going to take a before and after picture, and see how long it takes me to finish it, if I even can.
