SOMETHING BLUE

I have loved the little planner that I have used the last 2 years as a journal. Just a nice little space to write what I did that day. This year, though, I want to sprout my creativity so I bought a blank book and designed my own title page. I intend to write more about how I feel about things instead of reporting what I did, as well as try some art in its pages when I feel inspired. I'm already critiquing that first page - too busy, no focal point, etc. But I've got the whole rest of the book to improve! You have to start where you are, right?

LEAVES

Daughter Allison creates designs from LEAVES she collects and presses. One is a daisy made from tiny Honey Locust Leaves. The other represents our family - Dad & Mom and nine kids. I love her creativity and the family one is particularly meaningful to me.

CIRCLE

I found these childlike circle trees painted on the side of a building.
Some of the windows are circles too.

WATER

Cold enough today, the only water was dripping off the end of these icicles in the winter grayness. Then, a close up of some other ones:

                                                  Sudsy water on my windshield
                                                        at the car wash.

WHAT I DID TODAY

I learned how to post to my blog on my iPad. This is the only photo I had stored.

BACK IN THE GAME

Happy New Year!! Saw the new Photo a Day list at Marlene's and thought I would get back in the game after a LONG BREAK. Here we go!

BLACK & WHITE

Few things in life are clearly Black and White, so when I see patterns or shadows or clear contrast, it catches my eye. When I looked out my window this morning and saw this I knew I wanted to record it.
