MESSY

August 9

Took a photo of someone else's mess - though at least it was out of the house and ready to be picked up and taken to the dump where it belonged. Then I came home and made a mess of my own! I haven't made waffles for years, so either the mess is because I'm out of the habit, or it's why I don't cook much any more!
P.S. The crumbs still tasted good as I chipped them off with a fork...

Another good thing is that any mess can be cleaned up, even serious ones like the ones that bad choices often bring, making our lives messy.  It takes time and lots of work, but with elbow grease, focus, and the gift of the atonement, any mess can be healed.

GLASSES

August 9

Reading glasses have been my friend for 20 years, so I have quite an assortment just in case...
Several years ago I offered a quarter to any of my grandkids (who were living with me) who could find my glasses. I must have had only one pair at the time. The littlest one looked at me quizzically and said, pointing, "Grandma, they're up to your head!" Now my habit is to tuck them in the front of my shirt. One of these days, I promise, I'm going to get real glasses - bifocals - so I can just leave them on all the time!

LOGO

August 5

I'm very proud of my son Josh and his wife, Casi, who have developed their own company, Armed Workwear. They designed and sell sturdy, comfortable work pants (he's a painter) with specialized pockets for tools, and removable knee pads. Their philosophy is that when you go out and face your "war" of providing for yourself and family, you'd better be armed with the proper tools (armor) to make the battle easier.

SOMEWHERE I SAT

August 4
I sat at the Hale theater, a theater in the round, to watch Sound of Music!
The actress who played Maria was as good as Julie Andrews!
What a delightful afternoon!

COIN

August 3

I keep this little dish of quarters handy >
for doing laundry. And there's a
parking token for the Conference Center.
A stray penny, too.

< These real silver coins are in my treasure box.
The black one came up in a
handful of mud from the bottom of a lake!
