INSIDE

August 18

Grandsons Levi and Shaydon went on an adventure with me to see their grandpa's boat. He's building it from scratch, and recently finished the outside shell, turned it over onto the trailer Matt built and is now working on the inside. While we were there we also got to see the remodeled inside of his house, with floors done by Aaron, tile work done by Matt, painting and finish work done by Micah and Josh.

FACES

August 17

Two of my grandsons made faces for my photo word today, and then we played three rounds of Skip-bo so we could each win one. (And we each did!!)

A few days ago I attended a class on growing tomatoes.
I learned that when the bottom of your big tomato looks like this
it's call cat-facing.

More like the cartoon character Ziggy,
don't you think?

GLASSES

August 9

Reading glasses have been my friend for 20 years, so I have quite an assortment just in case...
Several years ago I offered a quarter to any of my grandkids (who were living with me) who could find my glasses. I must have had only one pair at the time. The littlest one looked at me quizzically and said, pointing, "Grandma, they're up to your head!" Now my habit is to tuck them in the front of my shirt. One of these days, I promise, I'm going to get real glasses - bifocals - so I can just leave them on all the time!

WHERE I SLEPT

June 21

One of those wakeful nights last night, so I took a nap today where the fan could keep me cool. I inherited this couch from my mom, via my brother who used it first.                                The year my grandson Shaydon was two, he lived with me and this was his bed.  I have fond memories of lying on my side on the very edge as we talked about the events of the day, and listened to Mozart tunes till he fell asleep. Sometimes I fell asleep too. ZZZZZzzzz
