DREAM

August 26

A few years ago I had a dream of two beautiful, sleek horses that found themselves stranded on a narrow ledge on the face of a steep cliff. They barely had room to stand. There was no way up, no way down, no one to call for help. I saw a close up of one horse - there was fear in his eye and there seemed to be a chain link fence blocking him in, but I, as the observer down below, saw that the fence was only in his imagination. The other horse seemed to feel that the only option was to jump and go get help. So it did, and landed with its legs all splayed and broken. I thought, 'Oooo that must have hurt!' That was the end of the dream, except for my thought as the observer that the horse that jumped would somehow be OK.

Then a few months ago I was out to dinner with a friend who, I discovered, was an artist. She gave me one of her business cards which had this painting on it. I immediately thought of the dream and the poor horse with fear in its eyes. Thank you Dee for illustrating my dream! (www.dkramirezdearellano.com)
