In honor of my mother's birthday (she passed away 30+ years ago) my photo today shows a pair of salt and pepper shakers, one of the few things I have that belonged to her. I'm not terribly sentimental, but have kept this pair safe and displayed through many moves. I honestly don't remember how or when I got them, no amazing story or value to them - but they remind me of her and her era.
I also took a photo of the pair of place settings of china I bought at a thriftstore.
They look like they came from my mom's era, too, and I just liked them.
Except for the tea cups, the place settings are complete.
