Living in Utah, you usually experience an "inversion" for several days or weeks in the winter. High pressure holds the cold, fog, and smog in the valley; some people have trouble with breathing or their eyes burning. When it's gray and dreary on top of the piercing cold, it seems unbearable. The View from Here is a little foggy (and a lot chilly) today, but happily we can see blue sky and sunshine.
